Description

Sheet Pan Tacos are a fast, crispy, and flavor-packed meal made by assembling taco shells filled with seasoned meat and cheese, then baking them on a single sheet pan. Perfect for easy weeknight dinners with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef, turkey, or chicken
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or blend)
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, salsa, avocado, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large sheet pan with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground meat with chopped onion (and bell pepper if using) until browned and fully cooked.
  3. Drain any excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water. Simmer until the mixture thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
  4. Place tortillas on the sheet pan and lightly brush one side of each with olive oil.
  5. Add a spoonful of taco meat to one half of each tortilla, sprinkle with cheese, and fold the tortillas over to close.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until tortillas are crispy and golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve with desired toppings.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken or lentils for quick substitutions.Add black beans or corn to the filling for variety.Brush tortillas lightly with oil to help them crisp up in the oven.Use a mix of cheeses for more flavor depth.Avoid overfilling tortillas to prevent sogginess.
