Description
Soft pretzel bites are golden-brown, chewy mini pretzels that are perfect for dipping and sharing. With a crisp crust and pillowy interior, they make a fun snack for parties, game days, or anytime you crave something salty.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 10 cups water
- 2/3 cup baking soda
- Coarse sea salt, for topping
- Optional dips: cheese sauce, honey mustard, chocolate or caramel sauce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in salt, melted butter, and flour. Mix until dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Punch down dough and divide into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 1-inch thick, then cut into 1-inch bite-sized pieces.
- In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water and baking soda to a boil. Drop pretzel bites into boiling water for 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
