Description

Soft pretzel bites are golden-brown, chewy mini pretzels that are perfect for dipping and sharing. With a crisp crust and pillowy interior, they make a fun snack for parties, game days, or anytime you crave something salty.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 10 cups water
  • 2/3 cup baking soda
  • Coarse sea salt, for topping
  • Optional dips: cheese sauce, honey mustard, chocolate or caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in salt, melted butter, and flour. Mix until dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Punch down dough and divide into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 1-inch thick, then cut into 1-inch bite-sized pieces.
  6. In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water and baking soda to a boil. Drop pretzel bites into boiling water for 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon and place on prepared baking sheet.
  7. Sprinkle with coarse salt.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes
