Description

Sticky Hoisin Beef is a quick and flavorful stir-fry dish featuring tender beef strips coated in a rich, glossy hoisin sauce. This easy hoisin beef recipe combines sweet, savory, and umami flavors, making it perfect for a fast weeknight dinner served with rice or noodles.


Ingredients

  • Beef (thinly sliced, such as flank or sirloin)
  • Cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Ginger (minced)
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Soy sauce
  • Brown sugar or honey
  • Rice vinegar
  • Sesame oil
  • Black pepper
  • Green onions (sliced)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • Toss sliced beef with cornstarch until lightly coated.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add beef in a single layer and sear until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  • Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar or honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  • Let the sauce simmer until slightly thickened.
  • Return beef to the pan and toss to coat evenly.
  • Cook for 2–3 minutes until heated through and glossy.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
