Description

Strawberry Jello Cake is a moist and refreshing dessert made with a soft cake base infused with sweet strawberry gelatin and topped with a light, fluffy whipped topping. The gelatin seeps into the cake through small holes, creating vibrant color and rich strawberry flavor in every bite. Perfect for potlucks, birthdays, and summer gatherings, Strawberry Jello Cake is an easy make-ahead dessert that is both visually appealing and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix

  • 3 eggs

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin powder

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • ½ cup cold water

  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

  • Prepare the white cake mix according to the package instructions using the eggs, oil, and water.

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool for 10–15 minutes.

  • Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a fork, poke holes evenly across the surface of the cake.

  • In a bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin powder in boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved.

  • Add the cold water and mix well.

  • Slowly pour the gelatin mixture over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.

  • Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours so the gelatin sets and the cake absorbs the flavor.

  • Once fully chilled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake.

  • Garnish with fresh sliced strawberries if desired before serving

Notes

Allow the cake to cool slightly before adding the gelatin to prevent it from becoming too soggy.Use the handle of a wooden spoon to create larger holes for better gelatin absorption. The cake tastes even better after chilling overnight as the flavors fully develop.Fresh whipped cream can be used instead of whipped topping for a homemade touch.
