Description
A refreshing, creamy dessert made with chewy tapioca pearls, fresh strawberries, and milk or coconut milk. Strawberry sago is light, fruity, and perfect for warm weather or as a chilled sweet treat.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup small sago (tapioca pearls)
- 2 cups fresh strawberries (plus extra for garnish)
- 3–4 tbsp sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
- 1 1/2 cups milk, coconut milk, or cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Ice cubes or chilled water (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and add sago pearls. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the pearls turn translucent (about 10–15 minutes).
- Drain the sago and rinse under cold water to remove excess starch. Set aside.
- Blend fresh strawberries with sugar or honey until smooth to form a puree.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the strawberry puree with milk or coconut milk. Stir in vanilla extract if using.
- Add the cooked sago pearls and mix until evenly combined.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Serve in bowls or glasses, topped with fresh strawberry slices or additional garnish if desired.
