Description

A refreshing, creamy dessert made with chewy tapioca pearls, fresh strawberries, and milk or coconut milk. Strawberry sago is light, fruity, and perfect for warm weather or as a chilled sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup small sago (tapioca pearls)
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (plus extra for garnish)
  • 34 tbsp sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 1 1/2 cups milk, coconut milk, or cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Ice cubes or chilled water (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add sago pearls. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the pearls turn translucent (about 10–15 minutes).
  2. Drain the sago and rinse under cold water to remove excess starch. Set aside.
  3. Blend fresh strawberries with sugar or honey until smooth to form a puree.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the strawberry puree with milk or coconut milk. Stir in vanilla extract if using.
  5. Add the cooked sago pearls and mix until evenly combined.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Serve in bowls or glasses, topped with fresh strawberry slices or additional garnish if desired.
