Description

Stuffed dates are sweet, rich, and versatile bite-sized treats filled with creamy cheese or nut butters and topped with crunchy nuts or a drizzle of honey. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or dessert, they’re naturally gluten-free and customizable for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 12 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1/4 cup soft cheese (goat cheese or cream cheese)
  • 12 whole nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon or smoked paprika (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (such as chives or parsley, optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Slice each date lengthwise on one side and carefully remove the pit.
  2. Fill the cavity of each date with about 1 teaspoon of soft cheese or nut butter.
  3. Press a whole nut into the center of the filling for crunch.
  4. For sweet versions, drizzle with honey or maple syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon or sea salt if desired.
  5. Serve immediately at room temperature or warm in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5–10 minutes if desired.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving, if using.

Notes

Medjool dates are preferred for their size and softness.Make ahead and refrigerate for up to 2 days.For a vegan version, use nut butter or plant-based cheese alternatives.Serve as part of a charcuterie board or appetizer platter.Not recommended for freezing due to texture changes.
