Description

Sweet and Salty Puppy Chow is a crunchy, chocolatey snack made by coating cereal in melted chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and salty and great for sharing at parties or enjoying on the go.


Ingredients

  • 9 cups Chex or crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • Optional mix-ins: 1 cup mini pretzels, chopped nuts, or M&Ms

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth and melted.
  2. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Place cereal in a large bowl and pour chocolate mixture over it. Gently toss to coat evenly.
  4. Transfer the coated cereal to a large resealable bag or container. Add powdered sugar, seal, and shake until coated and powdery.
  5. If using mix-ins like pretzels or candies, stir them in after coating.
  6. Spread the mixture on a baking sheet to cool and set.

Notes

Use sunflower seed butter for a nut-free version.Let puppy chow cool fully before storing to avoid sogginess.Store in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate in warm climates.Customize with your favorite candy or flavor mix-ins
