Description

Taco Spaghetti is a fun and flavorful fusion dish that combines the bold flavors of tacos with the comforting texture of spaghetti. This casserole-style dish features taco-seasoned ground beef, tomatoes, pasta, and melted cheese, making it a perfect weeknight dinner for the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken for a lighter version)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade seasoning)
  • 8 oz spaghetti (or any pasta of your choice)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies (optional for added heat)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions or cilantro (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti: Boil the spaghetti in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the beef mixture: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning: Stir in taco seasoning, diced tomatoes (with juice), and green chilies (if using). Season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 5 minutes to combine the flavors.
  4. Combine with spaghetti: In a large bowl, combine cooked spaghetti and beef mixture. Stir in half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese, then toss to combine.
  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with remaining cheese and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with sour cream, green onions, or cilantro if desired, then serve and enjoy!
