Description

This air fryer fish recipe delivers crispy, golden fillets with a tender interior—all without deep frying. It’s quick, healthy, and perfect for weeknight meals, using minimal oil and simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 4 white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, haddock, etc.)
  • Olive oil or cooking spray
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels.
  3. Set up a dredging station with three bowls: one with flour mixed with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder; one with beaten eggs; and one with panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Dredge each fish fillet in the seasoned flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Lightly spray or brush both sides of the coated fillets with cooking spray or olive oil.
  6. Place the fish fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  7. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the coating is golden brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Add cayenne or chili flakes to flour for a spicy crust.Use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version.Mix parmesan into breadcrumbs for extra flavor.Swap seasoning with Cajun mix for bold, smoky taste.Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days.Reheat in air fryer at 350°F for 3–5 minutes to maintain crispiness.

Thaw frozen fish completely and pat dry before use.

Don’t overcrowd the air fryer; cook in batches if needed.
