Description

Waldorf Salad is a classic, refreshing dish made with crisp apples, celery, grapes, and walnuts tossed in a creamy dressing. It’s light, crunchy, and perfect as a side dish, appetizer, or light lunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 crisp apples (such as Granny Smith or Gala), chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup red or green grapes, halved
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (toasted or raw), chopped
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lettuce leaves (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop the apples into bite-sized pieces. Toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Thinly slice the celery and halve the grapes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the apples, celery, grapes, and walnuts.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise or Greek yogurt, salt, pepper, and a bit more lemon juice if desired.
  5. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat.
  6. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve on a bed of lettuce if desired.

Notes

Use Greek yogurt for a lighter version with a tangy flavor.Toss apples with lemon juice immediately after cutting to reduce browning.Toasted walnuts add more flavor but raw works fine too.Add cooked chicken to make it a complete meal.Best served chilled and within 1–2 days of making.
