Description

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • ¼ cup milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.

  • Add melted butter, eggs, milk, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir until just combined.

  • Fold in chopped walnuts or pecans if using.

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

  • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing

Notes

Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for the best sweetness and flavor.Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the bread soft and tender.You can substitute melted butter with vegetable oil or coconut oil if preferred.For extra flavor, sprinkle oats or nuts on top before baking.
