Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • Fold in chocolate chips gently.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

Notes

Toss chocolate chips in a bit of flour to prevent sinking.Do not overmix the batter to keep the cake soft and tender.Add sour cream or yogurt for extra moisture if desired.
