Description

Philly Cheesesteak Casserole is a cheesy, comforting dish inspired by the classic sandwich, made with tender sliced beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and a rich, creamy cheese topping. This easy casserole recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners or feeding a crowd, delivering bold flavor with minimal effort.


Ingredients

  • 500 g thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, sliced or shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add sliced beef and cook until browned, then remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms until softened.
  • Add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Return beef to the skillet and stir in cream cheese and beef broth until creamy and combined.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Transfer mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Top with provolone and mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Thinly sliced beef ensures tenderness and quick cooking.Provolone gives classic cheesesteak flavor, but other cheeses can be used.Do not overcook the beef to keep it juicy.You can prepare the casserole ahead and bake when ready.
