Description

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Season the chicken with salt and black pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the chicken until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté garlic until fragrant.
  • Add lemon juice, lemon zest, soy sauce, honey, and brown sugar. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Mix cornstarch with water to form a slurry, then add it to the sauce. Stir until thickened and glossy.
  • Return the chicken to the pan and coat well in the sauce.
  • Let it cook for a few minutes to absorb flavors. Serve warm.

Notes

Fresh lemon juice gives the best flavor, but bottled can be used if needed.Adjust sweetness by reducing honey or sugar.Add chili flakes for a spicy variation.
