Ingredients
For the brownie layer:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs

- ½ cup dark chocolate, melted

For the mascarpone layer:
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, and melted dark chocolate until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla and espresso.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt; mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until set with moist crumbs. Cool completely.
- In another bowl, beat mascarpone, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
- Spread mascarpone mixture over cooled brownies.
- Dust with cocoa powder and add toppings if desired.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
