Description

Golden Syrup Sultana Chews are a rich, buttery dessert bar featuring the deep caramel flavor of golden syrup combined with soft, juicy sultanas. These easy-to-make chewy bars are perfect for quick snacks, lunchboxes, or a comforting homemade treat, offering a classic flavor that never goes out of style.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup golden syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sultanas
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tin with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter, golden syrup, and brown sugar until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the syrup mixture, stirring until fully combined.
  • Fold in the sultanas evenly.
  • Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking tin.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and set on top.
  • Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
